The Kingsway International Christian center,KICC, has announced date for its 12th annual widows’ party and empowerment programme.

The event which is expected to have over 17,000 widows in attendance is billed to hold on Saturday, January 6, at the King’s University campus, Odeomu, Osun State.
Addressing the press on the forthcoming programme during the week, the initiator and founder of KICC, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, said it all started as a simple instruction from the Lord, when he felt that God was laying on his heart to bless few widows in Ode-Omu, Osun State, his father’s hometown and root.
“My initial action was to bring together all the progenies of my grandfather, who had started moving apart, with some having not seen each other for as long as 35 years. It was during the first edition in January 2007, that I instructed my cousin to assemble widows in town because I wanted to bless them. That first event attracted about 308 widows, Ashimolowo recalled.
Continuing, he said “By the next year, the skeptical widows had shaken off all doubts and approximately 850 of them showed up. They were all fed as well as given six yards of local fabrics each and cash. The following year the number doubled to about 1500,”
