Edo APC crisis: Federal High Court dismisses forgery suit against lawmaker-elect

The remains of the late Corporate Affairs Manager of Vanguard Media Limited, Mr Victor Omoregie, were, weekend, laid to rest in his home town, Benin-City.

In a sermon, the Catholic priest, who presided over the funeral service  at the Blessed Tansi Catholic Church, Aburume, Benin-City, Rev Father Alfred Agbonlahon,  charged Christians  to prepare at all times to meet their Lord peacefully.

According to the Rev Father,  every act of love and goodness  one performed on earth  will definitely be rewarded.

In attendance at the church service, which started at 9:00am, were his wife, Queen, his son, Aizenosa, daughter, Ifueko, family members and friends.

The service began with a passage from the Book of Wisdom, 4:7-15,  read  by Omoregie’s son, Aizenosa, while another passage was read  by his daughter, Ifueko, from the letter of Paul to the Romans (6:3-9).

The ‘prayer of the faithful’ was rendered by Omoregie’s family and some senior officials of  Vanguard Media Ltd, led by the Deputy Editor, Mr. Adekunle Adekoya.

After the church service, the body left for interment.

At the burial ground, the wife and children performed the dust to dust rites, after the priest had prayed.

In her tribute, the wife said: ”Words fail me… I still do not believe you are gone…. Forever!! May your soul rest with the Lord. Adieu, till we meet on the resurrection morning.”

Also present at the funeral were Vanguard’s  Group Sports Editor, Mr. Tony Ubani; Cartoon  Editor, Mr. Dada  Adekola; Senator Roland Owie; Edo State Chairman of All Progressives  Congress,  APC, Bar. Anslem Ojesua, and  a  former Commissioner in Edo State, Mr. Orobosa Omuojo.
