ASABA— THE people of Anioma under the auspices of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Delta North Stakeholders Forum, have nominated Chief Ovie Omo-Agege as their choice candidate for the 2011 gubernatorial election in the state.
They meanwhile, called for a proper party congress in the state, to elect true democrats with genuine mandate of party faithful as executive members of the party from ward to the state level.
The people in a communique after their Town Hall meeting in Asaba, hailed the appointment of Prof Attaihiru Jega as chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and expressed hope that he will conduct a credible, free and fair elections in 2011.
The communique by Joe Onyekpe and nine others read, “while we commend the national chairman of the PDP, we await his efforts aimed at returning the party to winning ways in a genuine democratic process.
“We remain irrevocably committed towards the Anioma ethnic nationality’s goal of producing a Governor of Anioma extraction for Delta State come 2015,” they added.
