ENUGU—Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Chief Charles Udeogaranya of All Progressives Congress, APC, and ex Anambra Governor, Peter Obi  yesterday, felicitated with Muslims, urging them to use the period to continue to promote and abide by the core values of Islam for the sustenance of peace, progress and unity of the country.

Gov. Ugwuanyi in a Sallah message noted that there is every reason for the country to celebrate the goodness of God, pointing out that the continuous engagement of both Christians and Muslims in prayers for the sustainability of the peace, unity and development of the country, has ultimately proved    that with God all things are possible.

In his goodwill message,  Chief Charles Udeogaranya urged Muslims not to forget that God is love and that God’s ultimate command is love.

“.Let us, therefore, love one another as God our creator loves us all as his children. With love in our hearts, we all will create a beloved nation and make Nigeria a better place for all of us”

In his own message, the former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi said the  celebration yet again offered “our Muslim brothers the special opportunity to reflect on their spiritual lives, pray for themselves, others and the nation at large.

He called for reflection on the ideals of good living, which all religions preach, which, according to him, abhors violence, but rather promotes peace and fraternity. among men.

Police Commissioner, Mr. Adeleye O. Oyebade said the command has mobilized its officers and men to ensure that the Eid-El-Kabir celebration is crime free and assured of adequate protection of lives and property in the State.

The Commissioner who spoke through the Command’s spokesman, Geoffrey Ogbonna, a deputy superintendent of police, DSP, Oyebade warned that the command would deal decisively with anybody or group that plans to cause a breach of the peace of the State.

“Any person or group intending to cause any mayhem in the State before, during and after this period of festivity is advised to relocate as the Command is fully prepared to deal with law breakers and miscreants while the law abiding citizens and residents are advised to go about their lawful businesses, the Commissioner warned.

The command also urged the people to volunteer information on criminal tendencies in their areas.

“The Commissioner of Police therefore, on behalf of the officers and men of Abia State Police Command wishes to extend his warm greetings to all Muslim faithful in the State”, the PPRO said in the statement.

In a related development, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, and 2019 presidential aspirant of the party, Chief Charles Udeogaranya has extended a message of goodwill to Muslims.

In a statement he released, he said:

“With the deepest compassion and full sense of brotherliness, I sincerely wish Nigerian Muslim brothers and sisters happy celebrations of   Eid-il-Kabir.

“While you celebrate Eid-il-Kabir  to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim to follow Allah’s (God’s) command, may we not forget that God is love and that God’s ultimate command is love.Let us, therefore, love one another as God our creator loves us all as his children. With love
