WARRI—FORMER Deputy Premier of Mid-Western Region, Chief James Otobo,  has called on  Deltans to support  Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan for the 2011 gubernatorial election in Delta State,  saying that he is the only candidate  that can take the state to the promised land, going by his development strides so far.

Similarly, the Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama, SAN, has said that Governor Uduaghan remains the key to peace and development of the state and solicited support of Deltans for the re-election of the Governor come 2011, to enable him continue with his good works.

The Isoko-born elder statesman and Utuama made these remarks  at a sensitization rally for the re-election of Governor Uduaghan, organised by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Delta South Senatorial district at Oleh, the headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area, said there is no other option than to return Governor Uduaghan.

Utuama who noted that the purpose of the gathering was to support the continuity of the three- point agenda of the Governor,  which according to him, had succeeded in all ramifications, said that nobody will throw away the idea of backing a man who has all it takes to do more for his people, not even a mad man can do so.

He said, “Uduaghan remains the key to peace, progress and development of Delta State. He is a developer, a unifier, detribalized, who must be identified with. I want to assure you that we will continue to deliver quality governance to the people of Delta State. The best is yet to come.”

I assure you that he will continue to deliver more dividend of democracy to our people. I thank the organisers of this programme and all those who came out to support Governor Uduaghan.”

Chief Otobo who chaired the occasion, said he has since identified with the Uduaghan Campaign Organisation, adding  that he would continue to meet with those in the opposition with a view to wooing them to join Uduaghan in his bid to further transform the state.

Chief Otobo, who condemned the idea of painting the Governor in bad light before the world, admonished those in the habit of doing so, to desist forthwith as the unprecedented crowd that greeted the sensitization campaign was enough evidence to prove how Deltans love the Governor as it demonstrates their readiness and desire to have him back.

“We will continue to meet with those on the other side with a view to letting them see reason why we should support the Governor to come back. I enjoin you to go to the grassroots and mobilize support for Dr. Uduaghan’s victory come 2011,” he added.
