Asaba—BARELY 24 hours after the brutal murder of a female Divisional Police Officer, DPO, CSP Mercy James, formerly attached to Ibusa police station, two other persons have been killed by unknown gunmen at Ibusa.

The identities of the two other persons killed were not ascertained but Vanguard gathered that the slain DPO was strict and must have carried out some sensitive cases.
State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Charles Muka, told Vanguard in Asaba yesterday that investigations are in top gear “and very soon we’ll get them (killers). We are closing in on them,” he assured.

Asked if the Police Orderly attached to the woman was arrested, Muka, who said that the Orderly was not hurt during the encounter said, “No, he is not arrested but if there is any need to get him for investigation, we will do that.”

The DPO was in company of her Orderly and a maid when she met her death at  Ogbeogonogo market on Monday night at about 9.30pm.
