NNEWI— THE Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has condemned the continued incarceration of its national coordinator, Mr. Chidiebere Onwudiwe, and other Biafra activists, namely Benjamin Madubugwu, David Nwawuisi, Bright Chimezie, George Onyeibe and other members in different  prisons in Nigeria.

IPOB in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Mr. Emma Powerful said: “Information reaching us indicates that the life of IPOB detainees’  in different prisons where they are kept are not safe anymore.

“We gathered from reliable prison sources that most of them have fallen sick without proper medical attention, especially those  in Kuje prison and we warn that nothing should happen to them, and are therefore calling for their immediate release to enable them take proper medical treatment.

“IPOB will not take it lightly with the Nigerian Federal Government should anything untoward happen to any of them, wherever they are kept.”

IPOB said that various members of the group being detained were picked from Igweocha, Rivers State; Asaba, Delta State; Anambra State, Akwa Ibom State, Abia State, Ebonyi State, Enugu State and Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
