Robbers lay siege to Asaba-Ogwashi-Uku road

Asaba—NO fewer than 10 passengers are presently in hospital, following injuries they sustained, when they were attacked by armed robbers on Asaba-Ogwashi-Uku Road, Delta State.

Reports has it that the robbers have continued to lay siege on the road for quite a while and attack motorists at will.
For the past one week, no day passed without recording bloody attacks on the road, Vanguard was informed.

On Wednesday last week,  a group of supporters, travelling  in buses  to Asaba to witness the swearing-in of Special Adviser on Ethnic Harmony, Chief Elizabeth Ogbon-Dey,  fell victim to the attack, which has become a daily occurrence.

Some of the workers who reside in Ogwashi and work in Asaba,  were victims of the attack yesterday.

Reacting, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Charles Muka,  said “yes, herdsmen robbers struck along Ogwashi-Uku Asaba Road.”

“Two persons were injured in the operation. Our men are on the trail of the robbers who fled into the bush,” he added.
