The Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA) has assured both local and international exhibitors and visitors to its forthcoming international trade fair of maximum security within and outside the fair ground.

The event is coming up this month from Friday 24th February to Sunday 6th March 2017.

Briefing journalists in Lagos, the second Deputy President/Chairman KITF, Main Organising Committee, Alhaji Suleiman Aliyu, said: “Kaduna is the safest state in the northern part of the country and both the federal and state governments are putting in place adequate security throughout the fair.”

He disclosed that the theme of the fair is “Promoting Public Private Partnership as Panacea for Accelerated Growth and Development.”

He explained that the theme was deliberately chosen to reckon with current realities in the economy and it intends to appreciate and compliment government efforts towards restructuring of Nigerian economy that has been facing a number of challenges due to dwindling resources.

He stated: “It has become evident that the government alone cannot muster the resources (finance and expertise) to meet this need, hence the involvement of the private sector is not just desirous, but necessary. It is no wonder; therefore, that majority of infrastructure projects currently underway at both state and federal levels are powered by PPPs.

“As we are all aware, Nigerian economy has since last year been facing a number of serious challenges which include the problem of dwindling revenue, high exchange rate due to scarcity of foreign exchange, high inflation rate, closure of businesses leading to increase in unemployment. All these problems mentioned above led to the current recession,” he said.
