Army school Commandant murdered in Ibadan

IBADAN—UNKNOWN assailants have murdered the Commandant of Command Secondary School, Ibadan, Colonel Anthony Okeyim, in his official residence.

The body of the officer was discovered yesterday in his apartment, which is located inside the school premises.

According to sources, the Army officer was first strangulated before his throat was cut.

While confirming the incident, Oyo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu, said the body was found at about 6:30p.m. yesterday.

According to him, “We are treating it as a case of suspected murder. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Samuel Adegbuyi, visited the school immediately the case was reported.

“Police investigation has begun and the investigating team is working with Military Police investigating team. We have also beefed up security around the area.”

One of the colleagues of the slain officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Vanguard that the deceased was promoted three weeks ago.
