A group, under the auspices of Women Missionaries to African Nations, also called, Woman Africa, has stressed the need for the society and corporate organizations to empower Nigerian women to effectively serve as change agents, especially, in the present biting economic recession in the country.
President and founder of Woman Africa, Rev, Ijeoma Emeribe, made the call at the weekend, while presenting various skill acquisition and relief materials to over 1,000 beneficiaries, mainly women during Woman Africa prayer and empowerment conference in Lagos, themed; “Save the African Woman.”
Emeribe, who said that government cannot do it alone, stressed that empowering the African woman would serve as the catalyst for sustainable change in the continent and Nigeria in particular.
According to her, women are in dire need of all the help they can get as they are always the ones who suffer more in the most unstable cases.
