Jos—The Commission of Inquiry set up by Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State to probe the previous administration of Jonah Jang, from 2007 to 2015, has submitted its report, four months after it was constituted.

Ex-Gov Jonah Jang
Chairman of the Commission, Justice Stephen Adah, who submitted the report to the governor yesterday at Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, said: “117 memoranda were submitted by the public, 195 witnesses took oath and gave evidences and 181 exhibits were admitted in evidences.”
Receiving the report, Governor Simon Lalong assured citizens of the state that his administration would issue a white paper and implement the recommendations by the commission.
Lalong said: “This commission was not established as a witch-hunt committee for persecution of perceived opponents, but as a committee for stewardship and accountability.
“I am sure all who have appeared before the commission have realised that the principles of fair hearing, equality before the law, and all that pertains to the fundamental rights of persons were adhered to in the cause of the proceedings.
“Now that they have done their part, the ball is in our court. We will study the report and officially proclaim to our citizens what government’s position is in a white paper.”
