”My mother’s curse led to my arrest”

A 28-year old suspected  armed robber Chuk-wuemeka Obinna has said that his  mother’s curse led to his arrest by  men of the Ogun state police command.  Obinna who was arrested on the 9th of September and paraded , yesterday, claimed that  frustration led him into robbery, adding that if not for the unbearable poverty he was battling with, he would have adhered strictly to his mother’s warning.

Obinna told our reporter that his mother had warned him severally against any robbery act, saying that she had  prayed to  God that any day he  tried to steal  or rob  anyone of their valuables, he would be arrested on his first attempt. The suspect who met his Waterloo  on his second attempt said he hailed from Ebonyi State.

He said, “if not for poverty, I wouldn’t have  ventured into robbery, because, my mother had  warned  me never to venture into any act of robbery or stealing.
