ABUJA—The All Progressives Congress, APC, yesterday, inaugurated a five-member Election Committee and three-member Election Appeal Committee, which will be headed by Governor Muhammadu Badaru of Jigawa State, for tomorrow’s governorship primaries in Ondo State.

This is just as there are strong indications that at least 10 aspirants may stepped down for one of the aspirant, Dr Olusegun Abraham.

National Organising Secretary of the party, Sen. Osita Izunaso, who inaugurated the panel named Jigawa State Governor, Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar as chairman while other members are Dr. Bruce Ugbode (Secretary), Mr Hamma Adama Ali, Prince M. Martins and Engr. Mohammed Lawal.

The three-member Election Appeal Committee is chaired by Mrs. Helen Bendega. Other members are: Alh. Musa Umar (Secretary) and Nikky Ejezie.

Speaking during the inauguration, Senator Izunaso charged the Governor Badaru-led Election Committee to ensure that the Ondo Governorship Primary Election is free, fair and transparent.

10 aspirants may step down for Abraham

Meanwhile, strong indications emerged that 10 aspirants may throw their weight behind Dr Abraham.

Already four of the aspirants have publicly declared their support for Abraham while talks with others was still on.

Thos who have pitched their tents with Abraham include, Odunayo Akinrinsola, Paul Akintelure, Derin Adesida and Akinola Akinyinka.

Similarly, the party in Ondo State has directed all the delegates from the South Senatorial District to assemble at ESS BEE Event Arena, Wokkman plaza, Ondo road, Akure by 7am tomorrow for their accreditation.

Also those from the North Senatorial District are to assemble at OSDPG Multipurpose Hall, first Gate Ijapo Estate, Akure while those from the Central Senatorial District to assemble at Arcade Ground by House of Assembly.

A statement by the Director of Media and Publicity Steve Otaloro in Akure said that accreditation will start by 7am and end by 10am while election will start immediately.

Otaloro said that “all delegates are to go to the screening centre with their voters’ registration card and party ID card and (optional) driver’s license.
