There was mayhem on Tuesday at Ewedogbo area of Igando, along LASU road as suspcted militants the community with many people feared killed.

Vanguard learnt that Police officers from the Lagos State Command wade in after a distress call from one of the residents.

The suspected militants, who reportedly stormed the area at about 4 am on Tuesday, looted shops and sporadically fired shots into the air in an attempt to scare off resident

Shortly after the militants started shooting, police officers arrived and engaged the suspected agitators in a gun duel.

Sources say the shootout left three policemen injured, while many residents have fled the area for safety.
