ENUGU—Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, yesterday, approved some basic needs of the inmates of Abandoned Children’s Home at FSP Medical Centre in Enugu, as part of his administration’s social responsibility and commitment to charity.

Governor Ugwuanyi, who visited the centre to identify with the inmates and assess the on-going rehabilitation work being undertaken by a group of like minds, known as Enugu Old Skoolz, EOS, after analyzing the condition of the abandoned children, approved the recruitment of a resident physician for  proper medical attention.

The governor also approved the employment of four staff to take adequate care of the general welfare of the children and gave directives for the enrolment of the inmates, who had attained the age of schooling in any government school of their choice at the expense of the government.

He opined that the children were the leaders of tomorrow, stressing that they deserve to be given adequate care and attention for the benefit of humankind and the society in general.

Earlier in his speech, the President of Enugu Old Skoolz group, Mr. Chris Odili, expressed appreciation to the governor for his financial and moral support as well as his sense of direction towards the exercise of charity.
