Manchester City suffered a huge injury blow less than 10 minutes into their decisive Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid on Wednesday as captain Vincent Kompany limped off injured.

The Belgian defender has been blighted by a series of muscle injuries this season and pulled up holding his right leg before being replaced by Eliaquim Mangala.

The tie is finely balanced after a goalless draw in the first leg in Manchester last week.
