Nigeria Professional Football League champions Enyimba have vowed that Etoile du Sahel can’t stop their march to qualify for the lucrative group stage of the CAF Champions League.
Enyimba sounded confident as a team of 18 players left Nigeria yesterday morning aboard a Royal Air Maroc flight for Wednesday’s clash with the Tunisian side.
The two-time CAF Champions League winners take a 3-0 first leg lead into their duel with Etoile du Sahel at the Olympic Stadium in Sousse in the second leg of their second round clash tomorrow and the club Chairman, Felix Anyansi Agu assured that the team would get the job done, irrespective of the hostilities
“The match in Sousse will be extremely tough and we are confident of overcoming all hostilities to achieve our aim. I’m confident that Enyimba will qualify for the group stage of the 2016 CAF Champions League.”
Also speaking, striker Abu Azeez said the Elephants were condemned to qualify for the group stage of the competition “We must qualify to be in the group stage and therefore we are going to fight for it in Sousse. This is the Champions League, if you want to go far you must overcome small and big teams.”
It is just for us as a team to work together and play with determination. If we are determined, Etoile can’t stop us.”
