Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has emphasised the need for proper upbringing of children for the moral growth of the society.

The governor made the submission at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Barracks Road, Uyo, during the dedication of Master Dominion Udofia, son of the orderly to the governor,  thanked God for the gift of the child to the couple. He expressed appreciation to the family for taking their first fruit to God for blessing and commended the church for steering the people towards the manifestation of their spiritual potentials through incisive teaching of the Word and prayers.

He stressed the need for Christians to remain focused on God alone as the source of power, noting that other powers were doomed to fail.

The Provincial Pastor, Redeemed Christian Church of God , Akwa Ibom Province 5, Pastor Goke Anyeloye, who culled his sermon titled Take it to Jesus, from Psalm 23 verse 4, said  that God created man to worship and serve Him with a guarantee of blessing and protection,  adding that with this covenant of grace, no evil can overwhelm true believers who  trust and depend on God alone as David did to the disgrace of his enemies.

In a testimony,  the father Mr Ime Udofia,  an orderly to the governor, thanked God for his benevolence and the fruit of the womb shortly after their marriage a year ago.
