ASABA—THE senator representing Delta Central senatorial district, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has visited the Ibru family home in Agbarha-Otor and the people of the kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, to commiserate with them over the death of their son, Olorogun Felix Ibru, who died recently, aged 80.

Describing the death of Senator  Ibru as a major loss to the country, Delta State and Urhobo nation, Omo-Agege said that the people of the district would join hands with the family to give Olorogun Ibru a befitting burial.

He said: “Ibru was a great leader. As first civilian governor of Delta State, he laid the foundations of a democratic state. As a senator of the Federal Republic, he was a bridge builder and quintessential advocate for good governance. He excelled in every public office he held.”

Also, the leadership of Ukwuani Foundation Union, UFU, has condoled with Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, and the Ibru family over Ibru’s death.

In a statement by its president, Chief Joseph Olise, the union said that the late Felix Ibru was a worthy son of Delta State, whose tenure as the first civilian governor of the state brought about peace and stability in the state.

The union described the late Chief Ibru as a man of many parts who made Delta State an investment haven, adding: “He raised the development bar of Delta State, lived an exemplary and fulfilled life but had to answer the call of nature when he was much needed. He will be greatly missed.”
