ABEOKUTA—Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspected cultists believed to be terrorising Oke-Oko and Igborufu communities in Ogijo in Sagamu Local Government Area of the state.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement said the three suspected cultists were arrested on Saturday, around 5p.m. by operatives attached to Ogijo Division of the command during initiation of new members.
Adejobi said though some of them fled when police stormed the area, the suspects were later arrested following a tip-off.
He said: “With a good follow up of useful information given to the police, the suspects, Lekan Babatunde, Segun Owodunni and Musa Ibrahim, who escaped from the den were picked up by the police one after the other at different locations within the axis, with weapons.
“The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, Abdulmajid Ali, appreciates individuals that assisted with useful intelligence on the suspects.”
