lagos—To put to check the incessant cases of accidental discharge that had snuffed life out  of many innocent Nigerians by Policemen, the Police high command will henceforth subject its personnel to medical check –up before been issued with arms.

This was revealed by Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Police Force Medical Department Dr. Adenike Abuwa when she paid an official visit to the Lagos Police Command as part of the familiarization tour of units under her watch.

In his welcome address, the Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, gave a brief account of the commands activities since he assumed office in July 2015.

In her response, AIG Abuwa expressed delight at the warm reception accorded  her team stressing that she was elated by the robust relationship that exist between the command and that of the personnel of the medical units.
