lagos—RESPITE  yesterday came to electricity consumers under Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company, Ikeja DISCO, as organised labour withdrew its siege and suspended action against the company over alleged sack of 400 workers.

Labour on the platform of the National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE, and its Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies, SSAEAC, which had since Monday shut the operations of the company over unresolved issues, said it was suspending its action for three weeks following a peace meeting brokered by officials of Department of State Service, DSS.

Vanguard gathered that as part of the peace meeting, both parties resolved to form a joint committee to work out the conditions of service and procedural agreement for the workers and report back in three weeks.
