Lagos—As public schools in Lagos State resume for the second term of the 2015/2016 academic session yesterday, the Deputy Governor, Dr, Idiat Adebule has urged school administrators across the state to redouble their efforts in the New Year and ensure improvement in pupils’ academic performance to justify government’s huge investment in education.

The Deputy Governor in statement to signify the commencement of a new academic session, noted that the objective is achievable when teachers and school administrators rededicate themselves to the ethics of the teaching profession, making education interesting and inspiring to their students, inculcating good orientation, and moral values, encouraging pupils to be hardworking and be self disciplined.
According to her, “We have the unique responsibility to be the prime change agents our dear state needs to become a better place to live and work. All what we need is to rededicate ourselves to the ethics of the profession and make education interesting and inspiring again, while I urge you to encourage hard work, ethical conduct and moral values.’
Adebule while reminding them of the important position of the state in the country called on all stakeholders in the education sector to join hands with the present administration as it strives on a daily basis to implement relevant educational policies geared towards making education in the state not only a role model for the country but the whole of Africa.
