Kogi Governor-elect sues for love, peace, unity

Kogi State Governor-elect, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello has enjoined Christians and Muslim Ummah to celebrate the births of Jesus Christ as well as the Holy Prophet, Muhammed Rosulullahi, SAW, by promoting the virtues of love, peace and unity.

Bello, who stated this in his Christmas and Maolud Nabiyy greetings to the people of Kogi State, through his Media Office, noted that Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed lived exemplary life of humility, selflessness and great passion for humanity.

He enjoined Kogites to imbibe the virtues that were preached by Jesus Christ and the Holy Prophet during their earthly sojourn in order to rebound the unity that our heroes past laid for us.

According to him, ” this season demands that we show love to our neighbours, build an atmosphere of peace and engender unity among all men. We should also endeavour to nurture hopes where we find hopelessness and pray for our country and her leaders.

“It is only by nurturing a greater society where love, peace and unity abound that we could be seen to be sharing the virtues of Jesus Christ and Prophet Muhammad SAW,“ he further advised.

He lamented that petty sectional interests, prejudices and biases had become clogs in the wheel of the progress of our dear state, stressing that, “the time has come to free the wings of our state from the strong clips of disunity and ethnic distrust.”

Bello also noted that the challenges confronting the state were enormous and urged Kogites to support his incoming administration in creating a new direction for all our people, adding that, the new leadership is coming on stream with visions that will give the state her long sought fulfilment.

“The unique celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ and Prophet Muhammad is a lesson to unite us as a people irrespective of our political and religious affiliations,” he further said, noting that the cohesion of our people will form a major plank of his administration strategic goals.

He charged Nigerians to continue to give their support to President Muhammadu Buhari to enable him deliver on his programs and rescue our country from a threatening stagnation that past leadership has plunged our nation.
