Ogun Police arrest 1,353 suspects in six months

OGUN State Police command has arrested no fewer than 1,353 suspects for various crimes which include robbery, kidnapping, rape and cultism across the state in the last six months.

The Police command also recovered 170 arms and ammunition and 69 vehicles within the period under review.

The state Police Commissioner,  Abdulmajid Ali in a statement said the command had charged 490 cases to court while 621 suspects have been prosecuted.

The Police boss also said the command had convicted 48 cases and recovered property valued at six million naira.

According to him, out of 1,353 suspects arrested, 116 were armed robbers, seven died in custody, 38 were suspected rapists while 980 committed other offences.
