President Muhammadu Buhari says all pending cases of political assassinations and kidnappings in the country will be thoroughly investigated.

He also assured that the fundamental human rights of all Nigerians will be protected.

To realize these, Buhari said  the social justice system must be made to function effectively, stressing that the judiciary must be ready to operate in such a way that impunity, political intimidation and injustice must be arrested.

The president spoke during a parley with the state Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Presidential Villa.

He stated that he remained fully committed to providing a level-playing field for all Nigerians to get on with their daily lives or participate in electing their leaders, without fear of intimidation.

Buahri’s reactions followed some complaints of harassment and intimidation by some of APC  Chairmen in the states not controlled by the party.
