National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, on Thursday derided Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State, asking him to release evidence of his underhand dealings with the All Progressives Congress, or desist from further claims.

Mua’zu was apparently responding to threat by Fayose to expose him over his collusion with the APC to undermine the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party and President Jonathan in the last election.

The National Chairman, who mocked Fayose on his twitter handle on Thursday, said, it was likely that the so-called evidence by the governor would not be different from the one he told Nigerians that Buhari was almost dead in a London hospital.

Mua’zu said: “We challenge Governor Fayose to come out with the evidence that shows National Chairman worked for APC during the elections.

“We hope it’s not the kind of evidence he once said he had that Buhari was dying.”

The National Chairman had faulted the calls of some PDP leaders on him and other members of the National Working Committee of the party to resign, following the huge defeat suffered by the party in the recent general elections, especially its loss in the presidential poll.

Fayose, one of those pushing for the resignation of Mu’azu, had threatened that he would release incriminating evidence of the national chairman’s secret support for the APC, if Mu’azu pushed further his defence.

Apart from Mua’zu, other members of the PDP National Working Committee, NWC, have shunned called on them to quit, having led the part to a crushing defeat at the last elections.
But the NWC members have rebuffed such entreaties, saying it was Nigerians and not themselves, who rejected the PDP at the polls.

Many other prominent PDP leaders have also given reasons why the past lost and asked for proper assessment to rebuild the sinking ship.
