ASABA—FORMER Commissioner on the board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Chief Johnson Boro, has advised Chief Great Ogboru of Labour Party, LP and Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, against dragging the state governor-elect, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, to the tribunal over the outcome of the just concluded governorship election in Delta State.

Boro, in a chat with Vanguard, in Asaba, yesterday, said such litigations at the tribunal or court would distract the governor-elect.

“Dr Okowa, having won the election, should be allowed to concentrate on the task of governance,” he held.

Congratulating Okowa and his deputy, Mr Kingsley Otuaro, on their landslide victory, Boro said: “Okowa’s victory is an act of God, therefore, he should be given the needed support by all stakeholders.”

In a similar development, former Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Olorogun Ebenezer Okorodudu, yesterday, congratulated Okowa and his Deputy, Otuaro, on their victory at the April 11 poll.

Okorodudu, who spoke with newsmen, said the victory of the duo was a testament of the love of Deltans for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, adding that “Dr Okowa is a man Deltans trust. He has been in government since 1999 and he performed creditably in all the assignments given to him in the past.”

Urging Deltans to give him the needed support, he expressed hope that Okowa will build on the legacies of former Governor James Ibori and Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.
