Property agent docked for allegedly stealing N360,000

A 51-year-old property agent, Taiwo Oluwo, has been charged before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing N360,000 belonging to one Pastor Praise Judah, under the guise of renting a land for him.

The accused, whose residence is unknown, was said to have committed the offence on December 15, 2014 at 8b, Ejigbo Road, Orisunmbare area of Lagos.

Oluwo was arraigned by the police on a two-court charge of stealing.

Police prosecutor, Chinalu Uwadione, informed the court that the offence was contrary to Section 278 and punishable under Section 285(1) of the criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria.

However, when the charge was read to the accused before Magistrate A. O. Akinde, he pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Akinde granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties that have evidence of tax payment and verifiable addresses.

The matter was adjourned till June 11.
