MINISTER of Trade and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga, has commended the voting process of the Presidential and National Assembly election, saying that the process was impressive and smooth.

Speaking after casting his ballot Ward 8, Polling Unit 012, Eti-Osa Local government, along Gerrard Road, Ikoyi, the minister praised the efforts of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the efforts put into the exercise, describing it as highly professional.

Aganga who had his accreditation at exactly 11.50am and voted by 2.55pm, noted that the process had been very successful and impressive, stating that it took him less than 3 minutes to get accredited. “It was smooth, very organized and we must commend INEC for that. Together we can make history, Nigeria is on the verge of history and we must show the world that we are much advanced in what we do,” he said.

Also, the Secretary General of the Nigeria National Summit Group, NNSG, Mr. Tony Uranta, hailed the massive turn-out of Nigerians to exercise their civic rights, stating that regardless of the hitches, the process might still come out credible.

He said “I am happy that people have come out; people came out as early as 6:30 am and waited patiently to cast their votes.

“I am prayerful, regardless of the fact that the card readers are malfunctioning serially all over the country, regardless of the fact that there was an explosion of some kind in Enugu, … under-age voters in some Northern states, I want to believe that this is going to turn out to be very credible and peaceful polls.”
