The Director, Publicity Committee of President Jonathan Campaign Organisation in Anambra State, Chief Joe-Martins Uzodike has decried the recent attacks on the personality of the former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, describing it as a veiled attack on President Jonathan.
Uzodike, who was the Director of Willie Obiano campaign Organisation and the immediate Special Adviser, Political matters to the Anambra State governor stated this in Awka yesterday while addressing youths and traders rooting for the re-election of President Jonathan.
The former Commissioner for Information and Culture, who said he was dismissed by Gov. Obiano for supporting Jonathan, regretted the demise of the late Biafran leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu whom he described as a rallying point of APGA which had died with him.
He frowned at the calculated attempt to tarnish Obi’s hard earned image and reputation through the circulation of a sponsored documentary in select media houses, noting that such action was proof that the Anambra State government was not supporting Jonathan for re-election.
He accused Obiano and his cohort, Chief Victor Umeh, of chasing Obi out of the party despite the fact that Obi midwifed the coming of the incumbent governor and warned them to prepare for the after effect.
Joe Martins described the current attacks on Obi as indicative of APGA’s plan to frustrate the second tenure ambition of Jonathan in the state, wondering why Obi who was no longer running for elective office should be the object of their attack.
