LEGISLATIVE arm of Bomadi Local Government Council, Delta State yesterday, slammed an indefinite suspension on five of its members for alleged gross misconduct and conspiracy.
The House, at an emergency sitting presided over by its leader, Mr. August Zidideke, named those suspended as: Mr. Clifford Labos, Sele-Oge Tom, Manager Bofede, Mekoru Ebikemere and Susan Preyor.
In a statement by its Acting Clerk, Omoun Bluff Courage, the House noted that the resolution was sequel to a motion moved and seconded by Chairman, House Committee on Environment, Mr. Innocent Akpoyibo, and Deputy Leader of the House, Sylvia Mietoruomi respectively.
Meanwhile, four members of the House, Nurse Edeinmene, Deputy Whip; Donald Amabri, Eddy Muturu and Raymond Bozimo have denied involvement in the purported impeachment of the Leader of the House, Mr. August Zidideke.
Dissociating themselves from the purported impeachment, the legislators said they never attended any meeting where the leader of the House was suspended.
“I was surprised when I saw my name in the papers. I never attended any sitting with anybody where the leader was impeached. This is a leader who has protected the interest and welfare of all members of
this legislative arm. The leader has done nothing to warrant any impeachment.
“I believe this publication was made by some disgruntled, selfish and greedy members of the House. I hereby affirm that Hon Zidideke is our leader and remains our leader. I will consult my lawyers for
appropriate action on that publication,” Deputy Majority Whip of the House, Nurse Edeinmene, said.
