The Golden Eaglets are set to redeem their image as they play Guinea for bronze at the CAF African Under-17 Championship this afternoon in Niamey, Niger Republic.

The match between the two losing semi-finalists will be a repeat of their last group A game, where the Eaglets waited until the 89th minute to cancel a Guinean lead from the first half.However, today the Nigerian team officials are optimistic that the Eaglets who seem to have a goal-shy attitude will not lay down for their opponents to roll over.

“This game will give the players the opportunity to redeem themselves. In their first match against Guinea, they had a bad start, but this time around it will not be the same story,”said Abiodun Morakinyo, the team’s media officer.

He added that the team will leave Niamey for Lagos on a chartered flight unlike when they took a bus ride for the tournament.
