ABUJA — A group of ten political parties under the aegis of Coalition of Progressive Political Parties, COP3, yesterday, joined in the condemnation of last Saturday’s postponement of the 2015 general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The group, which blamed the INEC chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, for what it described as playing into the hands of the Presidency, through the service chiefs, warned against any attempt by Presidency to remove Jega, saying it would go all out to resist any such action.
At a press conference, in Abuja, the parties said they were deeply disappointed by the decision of the commission to postpone the elections that were scheduled to commence next Saturday, with the presidential and National Assembly elections.
