Police nab 6 robbers in Lagos

Six members of a notorious robbery gang that had been terrorizing motorists and pedestrians on Lagos Badagry Expressway and residents of Ijanikin area of Lagos, have been arrested by the police.

The suspects, identified as Solomon Edoh, Gibson Edibi, Ibrahim Ismali, Funbi Aformide, Junior Ekonafe and Rasaq Popoola, were arrested when anti-robbery policemen attached to Ijanikin Police Station, accosted them at Ketu-Ijanikin axis of the expressway, dispossessing innocent motorists of their valuables.

Vanguard gathered that the bandits, who were armed with locally-made guns and cutlasses, took advantages of bad spots on the expressway to rob motorists and pedestrians at nights.

They were also said to have raided some homes at Divine and Ketu areas of Ijanikin, recently.

Police sources disclosed that the new Ijanikin Divisional Police Officer, Superintendent Robinson Eregare, deployed anti-robbery police to the area in search of the robbers, when he received intelligence report on their activities.
