ABEOKUTA—The Labour Party in Ogun State has berated the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun over the on-going teachers strike, describing the governor as insensitive.
The state Secretary of the party, Sunday Oginni and Director-General, Labour Party governorship campaign organisation, Abayomi Arabambi while unveiling the party candidates for the coming election, said it is inhuman for the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun to continue with his campaign while the teachers were on strike.
Teachers in both public primary and secondary schools in the state had begun the strike action last week over alleged failure of the governor to pay the teachers’ 27.5 per cent salary increment .
While reacting to the strike embarked upon by the teachers in the state since last week, Oginni flanked by the governorship candidate, Abolaji Sunmola said the government of All Progressives Congress in the state has lost touch with the civil servants.
According to Oginni, government of Governor Ibikunle Amosun lacks human face and is insensitive to the plight of the people in the state.
