DiscoveryAir has said its suspension by Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, was due to flight delays and cancellations during last Christmas period and not due to any technical problems. 

Mr. Babatunde Babalola, Chairman of the airline, said this in Lagos, adding that the delays were due to weather conditions.

It will be recalled that the airline was suspended from operating any flight as its Air Operator’s Certificate, AOC, was suspended by NCAA. The suspension would be in force pending the outcome of a comprehensive review of its operations.

Mr. Sam Adurogboye, Deputy General Manager, Public Relation, NCAA, said the airline failed to carry out corrective actions “within one week, January 1 to 7, as raised in an earlier letter to the operator.”
