The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Rivers State, Mr Nyesom Wike, yesterday, said that Rivers people will not be deceived by the All Progressives Congress, APC propaganda.

A statement by his media aide, Mr Simeon Nwakaudu, said “The APC has confirmed its imminent ouster from Rivers State with the comments credited to the chairman of the outgoing party, Mr Davies Ikanya, expressing fears over the emergence of Wike as the flagbearer of the, PDP, who will lead the party to a deserved victory in 2015.

“The media comments credited to Ikanya further authenticate claims across Rivers State that the outgoing political party and administration sponsored moles to contest the PDP governorship primaries with a view to ensuring the emergence of a weak candidate. However, PDP delegates from all the 23 local government areas of Rivers State were discerning enough to know the trick of the failed administration; hence they jettisoned the moles and overwhelm- ingly voted Wike.

“Ikanya’s obsession with the affairs of the Rivers State PDP and the just concluded PDP governorship primaries point to the fact that his party has accepted their impending fate in next year’s election, where Wike is primed to defeat their candidate anointed by the non-performing outgoing governor who is desperately searching for someone to protect him from prosecution after years of failure.

“The people of Rivers State will not be swayed by the sponsored propaganda of the outgoing administration as they know the reality on ground. A reality of poor governance, destruction of judiciary and legislative arms of government in the state, mass looting of state resources and sale of government assets to cronies, general infrastructural decay and mass poverty imposed on the people by the outgoing APC administration.

“The people of Rivers State have committed themselves to positive change and they will vote Wike, a man of high level integrity and outstanding pedigree for performance.”
