Traders host First Lady, Peter Obi at market summit

First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan; former Governor of Anambra State Peter Obi, and Chairman, Oranto Petroleum, Prince Arthur Eze, are among dignitaries expected a market summit and Voter Education Rally, taking place Saturday in Lagos.
Holding at the Trade-fair Complex, Lagos, the event is being organised by South-East Ndigbo,  (Ndigboamaka), an umbrella body of over 58 major market associations and Igbo professional groups in Lagos.
At a briefing jointly addressed by its Chairman, Publicity Committee, Chinedu Ukatu and Public Relations Officer, Prince Chidi Nwafor, they said the conference became necessary to sensitise the traders on the need to exercise their civic responsibilities.
According to them, on the day of the event, all Igbo markets in Lagos would be shut.
Prince Nwafor told Vanguard that responses from his members so far, revealed that the PVCs exercise should be extended.
‘’We are closing all the Igbo markets in Lagos for this purpose because the comments from various markets about the PVCs were not impressive at all. For this purpose, we are begging INEC to extend the date so that our members will perform their civic responsibilities,’’ Nwafor said.
