Over 1000 students from different states who wanted to study in the United Kingdom stormed the Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos to attend the British Council 2014 education exhibition.

Representatives of over 50 UK universities graced the exhibition to reveal to participants the reasons they needed to study in the UK and also stated the various opportunities they could get from the universities and scholarships grants being offered by the universities.

However, in order to get the required information needed to enrol in UK universities, participants visited institutions’ representatives of their choice to ask questions on the requirements needed to enrol.

Vanguard Learning gathered that some participants who were with their credentials, international passports were able to get on-the-spot admission into the universities of their choices at the exhibition.

British Council Project Manager, Sephorah Imomoh who spoke to Vanguard Learning said she was pleased with the event.

According to her “I feel very pleased in the way the event has gone. We have had a very good turn out and there is a lot of interest from people about studying in the UK and they are able to get their questions answered from the universities representatives.”

she also revealed that opportunities are available for people in the UK and Nigeria to come together and interact with each other through the exhibition and they have been able to achieve that.

A participant who identified himself as Stanley Uche said the exhibition is an eye opener, adding that it would be of great importance if the exhibition is frequently held to expose Nigerians to the available opportunities.

Uche told Vanguard Learning that he was able to get clarification from the various universities representatives, which will help him to register with a UK university of his choice .
