ABUJA – The #BringBackOurGirls# campaign group, yesterday, distanced. Itself from the planned October 1, 2014 rally, as reported in the media.

#BBOG# disclosed this in Abuja during it daily sit out, the group said they don’t know where the media got the report, that they are having anti government rally today, October 1.

It would be recalled that there would be a mass anti government rally today and already recruited a South South Governor, a prominent politician from Adamawa state, some South West members of the House of Representatives as well as others from the North West and North East to stage a protest on Wednesday, October 1.

The report alleged that the massive protest in October 1, is expected to mark Day 170 of the Bring Back our Girls campaign.
The report also alleged that the group planned some legal steps to ensure its plot to stop the President from contesting. “President Goodluck Jonathan would, few months ahead of his nomination for re-election be bombarded with legal and socio-political hurdles by opposition, in a bid to stop him from contesting the 2015 election.

The group completely distanced itself from the report and said the report completely derailed from the group set goal which is to ensure the released of the kidnapped 216 girls from Government Secondary school, Chibok, Borno State.

The used the opportunity of the sit out to call on the federal government to brief Nigerians on the latest about the kidnapped girls. Whether they are still alive or still at the Sambisa forest.

“Federal Government should come out to tell us whether the girls are alive or still in Sambisa forest. We never expected to still be here after 6 months”.
