Ahead of the October 25, local government elections in Delta State, the Social Democratic Party, SDP, has promised to bring the true dividends of democracy to the people if elected at various councils.
The National Vice Chairman South-South, Chief Martin Ohwevwo, who gave the assurance at the South-South caucus meeting of the party in Asaba, commended the state government for setting the stage for the elections, noting that his party was ready to kill corruption, as well as create jobs to avoid the monumental political error of the past in the country.
Also, the state Chairman of the party, Mr Idawene Oke, who reaffirmed the party’s resolve under the leadership of Chief Olu Falae, said SDP believes in and has fate in President Goodluck Jonathan’s desire for a second term in office in 2015.
