Majority Leader of Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Monday Igbuya has supported the gubernatorial aspiration of Mr. Tony Obuh, saying that the technocrat is in the best position to move the state forward.

Igbuya, also the National vice chairman of Urhobo Political Forum, UPF, in an interview, said that the efforts so far made by the Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan administration must not be put at risk by putting untested hands to pilot the affairs of the state.
Igbuya, who described himself as one of Uduaghan’s political disciples, pledged to mobilise members of the House of Assembly to urge the governor to support Obuh.

Obuh, a retired permanent secretary, is a top contender in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  to succeed Uduaghan in the 2015 gubernatorial election in the state.
Pledging to mobilise members of the House of Assembly for the Obuh Project, Igbuya said his lobby for Obuh would not be limited to the House, promising to take the Obuh message to the executive and notably, the governor.

“The enviable efforts so far made by the Uduaghan administration in positioning Delta State above oil price shock and other achievements in infrastructure development and peace and security, cannot be put at jeopardy.

“You know, the governor is our political leader, there is no doubt. So, it is my intention to draw to his attention that many of us, his political disciples, have seen somebody that can push forward his blueprint, so that he can rest assured that all that he has been saying and doing about ‘Delta Beyond Oil’ will not be in vain.”
