_FORMER Minister of Niger Delta, Elder Godsday Orubebe, weekend, said he resigned to contest the Delta State governorship election in 2015 following an order from God.

Speaking at his country home, Ogbobagbene, Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State, where he donated food items and Bible to 2,000 widows and widowers from 99 Ijaw communities across the Niger Delta region, he said, “I am not an accidental politician, God told me clearly that I should go into it. If the election will be by selection, it will be me, if it is by voting, it will be me, politics is not a dirty game, but it is the individual that is dirty, that is why God-fearing people like me should rule,” he asserted.

Orubebe said that caring for the aged, widows, widowers and less privileged in the society was a direct mandate given him by God and promised to continue with the vision when he becomes Governor of Delta State.

His words, “We have completed the assignment of God today, we have been doing it in the past years. Every beneficiary will go home with a bag of rice, a can of vegetable oil, a packed salt, a wrapper, a Bible and an envelope for their transportation.

“This is a vision from God. God gave me three visions which are; to gather and equip men of God for winning souls for his kingdom, God said we should take care of widows, widowers, orphans and the aged people, and to give support to Churches with Bible, instruments and pilgrimages,” he said.
