PORT HARCOURT — Authorities of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, RSUST; Rivers State Polytechnic, RIVPOLY  and National Union of Rivers State Students, NURSS, have commended Senator Magnus Abe for initiating educational support schemes for students of Rivers South-East Senatorial district.

The Dean, Students’ Affairs, RSUST, Professor Friday Segalo; Rector, RIVPOLY, Sir Obianko Worlu-Elechi and NURSS President, Mazi Lucky, gave the commendation in their goodwill messages at the third edition of Abe’s annual school fee support for indigent final year students of the district, held at Bori, headquarters of Khana Local Government Area of the state.

Segalo, who described Abe as one of the best senators in the country, urged people of the senatorial district to support every project of the senator so that his potentials would be brought to bear.

He said: “Senator Abe is one of the best senators in this country. Some of the students may not understand what the senator has done for them but one thing is clear: what Senator Abe has done today will remain evergreen in our mind. We must support every of his project and allow his potentials to come forth.”

Also speaking, Rector, Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori, Worlu-Elechi, said though the Rivers South-East senatorial district has had senators, Abe remains the only one that has demonstrated commitment to putting the people first

“Senator Abe is doing well and some of us are following his activities in the Senate. The senator’s angle of human capital development is very important; it will make the people independent in the future. We have had senators but Abe has demonstrated that he is indeed thinking about his people.”
