BENIN— THE former Edo State deputy chairman of All Progressives Party, APC, now a chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Usman Shagadi, has predicted that the 2015 National Assembly elections in Edo North senatorial district will be a contest between PDP and Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

Shagadi spoke at a political forum in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of the state, where he addressed PDP local government leaders from the six councils that make the zone.

Accompanied by Mr. Abubakar Momoh, a House of Representatives member who is angling for the senatorial seat, he said since the senatorial district was Oshiomhole’s constituency, the governor would be APC proxy candidate.
Other PDP leaders from the district that were on the entourage include former council chairmen, among them Alemoh Akhigbe, Mr. Godwin Eshishe and Alhaji Y. Sule.

Shagadi stressed the need for PDP to present a candidate, who has the winning and performance record, which he said Abubakar Momoh can abundantly boast of.
