The spokesman of APC, Alhaji Lai Muhammed, had  in a television interview, alleged that the police acted the script prepared for it by PDP during the poll.
But the Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Abubakar, who refuted the claim by the opposition in a statement issued in Abuja, said police displayed high level of professionalism during and after the poll.

The statement read: “The Nigeria Police High Command has once again commended its personnel that participated in the policing of the just concluded Ekiti gubernatorial elections for their unparalleled professionalism displayed during the exercise.
“The Police Authorities believe that these virtues of selflessness and dedication to duty contributed in no small measure to the overall success of the widely acclaimed free and fair election.”
