LAGOS — A property agent, Iweka Chris Chigoziem‑Nnamdi, was Monday arraigned before a Tinubu magistrate’s court, sitting in Lagos, for posting nude photographs of victims he forcefully had sex with on the internet and for sending text messages demanding money from those he was blackmailing.
The victims are Nwoke Chizoba Judith, Mercy Cletus, Jennifer Kenneth, Queen of Port Harcourt, Salamatu Abubakar, Joy Job, Funke Job and Oge Chukwuka.
Others are Anastasia Chidinma, Angel Mugu, Eniola John, Joan Job of Port Harcourt, Joseph John Kufre and Adegbite Aremu.
Chigoziem‑Nnamdi, who is 32 years old and resides at No. 1, Road 34, Ikota Villa Estate, Lekki, was docked before Magistrate Yetunde Pinheiro.
The defendant is facing an eight-count charge bordering on extortion, threat to life, breach of peace, unlawful carnal knowledge and impersonation, preferred against him by the police.
The prosecutor, Chidi Okoye, ASP, told the court that the defendant committed the offences between November 2013 and April 18, 2014 at No 1, Road 34, Ikota Villa Estate, Ajah.
He said the defendant, with intent to extort money from one Nwoke Chizoba Judith, sent her text messages, demanding money and sex from her without any justification, adding that he also threatened to publish her nude photographs on the internet if the demand was not met.
Okoye said that the defendant also impersonated by representing himself to the public as Mike Adenuga in dealings with the public by using his e‑mail account [email protected], with his photograph.
He was also said to have impersonated one Joy Nedu, in dealing with members of the public on a social media network, Facebook, by using her e‑mail address name: [email protected] with her photograph, knowing same to be false.
Okoye said the defendant had sex with one Nwoke Chizoba Judith in a public place with intent to insult or offend her and her family, adding that the defendant, published the picture of Nwoke in a manner to provoke breach of public peace.
The prosecutor claimed that the defendant also impersonated Van Vicker by using his e‑mail address as [email protected].
The prosecutor also informed the court that the defendant with intent to defraud did invited his victims to visit him, for the purpose of obtaining them by false pretence.
The offences committed is punishable under sections 300, 57 (1) (a) and 134 (1) (2) of the criminal law of Lagos Nigeria 2011.
Others are sections 78 (a) (b) and 301 (2) (iii) of the criminal laws of Lagos state of Nigeria 2011.
