Lagos—Traffic was light on many roads in Lagos metropolis yesterday as residents stayed indoors to mark the Easter celebrations, according to reports.

Many roads, including the ever busy Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Funso Williams Avenue, Ikorodu Road and Mile 12- Ketu Road and Lagos -Abeokuta Road were virtually deserted with few motorists plying the roads.

A commercial motorist, Mr Ayodele Ogunmuiwa, said that business had been low for him since the Easter celebrations.

He, however, expressed happiness over the free flow of traffic in the city, saying that things were moving “sharp sharp” on the roads, adding that it was a period of great relief for him.

The cab operator said that the prevailing security situation must have forced many Lagos residents to stay at home.

A commuter, Mrs Babian Uche, said she was happy that transporters did not increase transport fares during the period.

She praised the Lagos State Government for providing free Bus Rapid Transit vehicles from Mile 12 to Tafawa Balewa Square to convey fun seekers to Lagos Island to catch fun.
